Sharron Taylor

She was born on May 23, 1950, in Paducah, Texas, to Troy and Ira Bill Nelson.

Sharron was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She married the love of her life, Victor Karroll Taylor, on August 24, 1996. Sharron was devoted to Victor and to her family, but her love extended far beyond those closest to her. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel like family and cherished the many friendships and relationships she built throughout her life.

Her church family held a special place in her heart, and her faith was strong. Sharron found great comfort in reading her Bible and lived out her faith through kindness, compassion, and a willingness to care for others. She had a true servant’s heart and was always ready to offer love, support, and comfort whenever someone needed her. Sharron loved to travel, especially when it meant spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, reading, and playing games on her phone. She had a beautiful singing voice and found great joy in music. She also had a special love for dogs and never missed an opportunity to show affection to any dog she met. A proud patriot, Sharron deeply loved her country and held profound respect and admiration for the men and women who served in the military. It was only fitting that her favorite colors were red, white, and blue. Christmas was Sharron’s favorite time of year. She delighted in bringing joy to others and was especially loved for portraying Mrs. Claus alongside Victor, who portrayed Santa Claus. Together, they created treasured Christmas memories for countless family members and friends.

Sharron expressed her love in many ways, especially through cooking and baking. Her homemade banana bread and zucchini bread were favorites and will be fondly remembered by those who were fortunate enough to enjoy them. Above all, Sharron will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous spirit, deep faith, joyful heart, and the warmth she shared with everyone whose life she touched. Her kindness, laughter, compassion, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Sharron is survived by her beloved husband, Victor Karroll Taylor; sons, Victor Allan Taylor and spouse, Jude Taylor, of Pensacola, Florida, and Tracy Taylor and spouse, Pamela Taylor, of Liberty Hills, Texas; daughter, Amanda Taylor, of Gruver, Texas; adopted daughter, Christy Walker and husband, Darryl Walker, of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her goddaughters and one great-goddaughter; her best friends, Ramona Minton of Amarillo, Texas, and Lynda McCreery of Amarillo, Texas; as well as several nieces, one great-niece, one great-nephew, two great-great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew.

Sharron was preceded in death by her father, Troy Nelson, who passed away on August 29, 2008; her mother, Ira Bill Nelson, who passed away on January 16, 2014; her daughter, Sharissa Williamson, who passed away on September 3, 2002; her sister, Elaine Davis, who passed away on April 23, 2026; her brother-in-law, Danny Davis, who passed away on May 26, 2026; her mother-in-law, Alma Taylor, who passed away on April 9, 2008; and Idella Jewell Rogers, who passed away on October 24, 1999.

Though Sharron is no longer with us in this earthly life, the love she gave so freely will remain. Her memory will live on through her family, her friends, her church family, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Until we meet again, Sharron. You will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.
