Sidney Hogan Schuler

Sidney Schuler, age 86, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Dr. Hal Rogers officiating. Sidney was born on August 26, 1937 in Riverside, California to Ollie and Mildred (Shaw) Schuler. He moved to Corsicana, Texas in 1939 as a young man to work on his Grandpa Shaws farm. In 1954 Sidney proudly joined the United States Air Force, while stationed in England he met and married Margaret Draper on September 15, 1956. He returned back to the states in August of 1957, where he started his family. He and Margaret had their children from 1957-1963.

In his free time he enjoyed working on cars and trucks along with tinkering and trying to fix any and everything. If he thought he could fix it, he would try. In the1970's he enjoyed leather work. His main hobby over the last 20 years was reading his bible. He drove a truck and was a maintenance worker until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandy Schuler; his grandparents Betsy and Vivian Shaw; brother Bobby Schuler; sisters Vivian Cartwright and Dorothy Wells.

He is survived by his sons: Sid Schuler and Tony Schuler; daughters Pam Sorrells, Melody Wilson and Angie Johnston along with 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

A celebration of life for Sidney will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I- 40 E, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
