Steve was raised in Amarillo along with his sister, Wynona, and brother Cliff. Steve took great pride in being a Texan, saying those first six months in Oklahoma didn't count. In 1970 Steve graduated from Amarillo High School and joined the US Navy that same year. He served as a Seabee for seven years. During his time in service, Steve met Dona Anet Franklin who was serving in the US Air Force. Steve and Dona were married October 3, 1973. The young couple welcomed their son, Clinton, one year later. After leaving naval service, Steve moved his family back to Amarillo where he began his career as a welder in the Boiler Makers Union and worked as such for thirty-five years.
Steve was a long-time member of the South Georgia Street Church of Christ. He had a generous spirit. Steve never hesitated to help anyone in need in any way he was able; whether stranger, friend, or family, Steve contributed of his means however he could, and never asked nor expected anything in return.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Katherina Reeves.
He is survived by his wife Dona; siblings Wynona Osborne and Cliff and wife Carol Reeves; his son Clinton and wife Jana Reeves and their four children, Emily and husband Christian, Ethan, Laura and Abby along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
