

Vickie Bufkin Moore, 66 of Amarillo passed away June 19, 2013. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Pastor Jerry Davey officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Vickie was born February 8, 1947 in Amarillo to Ward and Lorene Bufkin. She was raised in Amarillo and was a 1966 graduate of Palo Duro High School. Vickie actually lived her entire life on Cherry Avenue. She married Gene Moore on September 28, 1972 in Amarillo. Vickie worked for PGC from 1970 to 1972 and then spent over 20 years in the Oil and Gas business. She held a clerical position for Diamond Shamrock which later became Maxus. Vickie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who loved to take care of her family. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Joshua James. Vickie is survived by her husband, Gene Moore of Amarillo; sister, Jacqueline James and husband Michael of Amarillo; step-sons, Kevin Moore of Midland and Kurt Moore and wife Kaye of Lubbock; step-daughter, Kellie Christopher and husband Robbie of Lubbock; great-nieces, Shayla and Jaden James; great-nephew, Christopher James; also by 14 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be sent to the American Lung Association to help fight for the cure for Lung Cancer at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington D.C. 20004.
