

He is survived by his three sons Joe, Dave and Jim. Joe’s family includes wife Chris, Abby and husband David Hyams, Kelly and husband Mitch Brown, Ali and husband Jarrod Sparks and Jenna and husband Joe Cope. Dave’s family includes wife Darla, Wes and wife Stephani, Tyler and wife Sydnee and Zachary. Jim’s family includes Lindsay and Jason; plus seven great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife Alice Browder, older brother Joe Browder, his mother Imogene Simpler and his mother-in-law Lucille Ramsey.
Perry Browder was born in Amarillo, Texas on March 7, 1930. He married Alice Wrather on April 22, 1950 in Amarillo. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1956 where they lived until purchasing Long Holiday Motel in Gunnison. After operating the motel in the early 1960’s they returned to Colorado Springs until 1976. In May of 1976 Perry and Alice returned to Gunnison and purchased The Water Wheel Inn which they owned and operated until December 2005. Perry continued staying busy while owning the motel and participated in building the Dos Rios, Fairway and Que Qua Condominiums as well as the Lakeside Townhomes. Perry’s loving wife Alice passed away in December 2015 after enjoying many retirement years with family, friends and grandkids. After slowing down some, Perry’s biggest hobbies included fishing and watching Colorado Rockies Baseball. Perry also believed in giving back to such charities as Wounded Warriors and St. Jude Childrens Hospital and was a proud 32nd degree Mason.
There will be a 2:00 pm Chapel Service in Amarillo on Friday July 23, 2021 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors at 5400 S. Bell Street. A Graveside service will be held at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo at 3:00 pm at 2900 South Hayes Street.
