January 16, 1933 – February 11, 2025
Virginia Arleene Austin Prince-Baggerman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on January 16, 1933, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Audrey and Edith Austin, Virginia moved to Amarillo, Texas with her family on November 20, 1949. She later made her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she spent most of her adult life, before returning to Amarillo in 1982.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Geni Lynn Prince Braman.
She is survived by her two sisters, Gayle Austin Hensley and spouse Marion of Meridian, Texas, and Karen Austin Case and spouse Mike of Granbury, Texas; her daughter, Marla Darnell, and son, Samuel P. Prince, both of Amarillo, Texas; son-in-law, Andrew Braman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her grandson, Samuel Darnell, as well as five additional grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Home Chapel of Memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Virginia’s honor to a charity of your choice.
