Wanda Jean Prather

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Pastors Don Forrester and David Taylor officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Directors, 6969 East I-40.

Wanda Jean Prather was born September 30, 1928 in Alba to Monroe Columbus and Elizabeth Katherine Fisher. She grew up and graduated high school in Alba. Wanda Jean married Dewey A. Prather in 1946 and the couple moved to Amarillo in 1949.She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1985. Wanda Jean was a hardworker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and tending to her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Wanda Jean was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Wanda Jean is survived by two sons, Roger Prather of Austin and Dewey G. Prather and wife Teena of Amarillo; two daughters, Betty Malone and husband Jimmy of Canyon and Shirley Forrester and husband Don of Fredericksburg, VA; eight grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.

Wanda Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dewey A. Prather and two brothers.

Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
