Wanda was born on November 27, 1931 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to William and Bessie Skinner. Her mother passed away when she was four years old. Despite not having her mother or grandmother to show her the way, she grew into fine a woman and she would become a perfect example of what a wife, mother, and grandmother should be. She was married to W. E. “Buck” Startz for nearly seven decades, and together, they raised four amazing daughters. Wanda loved to cook and bake. She would often entertain her children’s friends when they would come over. No matter the situation, she made sure everyone was fed. Some of her favorite pass times included sewing and gardening, but none more than loving on her grandbabies.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild. Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters Karen Allen, Sharon Howery, Carol Dunavin, and Clarissa Sanchez; ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
