February 3, 1933May 25, 2019

William “T” Simmons, age 86 of Shell Knob, Missouri (formerly of Amarillo), went to join his savior on Saturday May 25th 2019.

“T” will lie in state until 8pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 for public visitation. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 2pm in the Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding. Arrangements are in the care of Memorial Park Funeral Home.

“T”, as everyone called him, was born on February 03, 1933 to William and Zeffie (nee Thomas) Simmons in Tulia, Texas. On September 16th, 1956 he married the love of his life, Lola Chisum. They were married 62 years before her passing on October 31st 2018. He served the National Guard proudly and then had a very successful career starting out as a lineman and ending in electrical sales. He retired in 1998 and moved to Shell Knob to live on Table Rock Lake. "T" was a very loving and giving man and nothing made him happier than spoiling his wife and girls. He loved a good game of golf with friends and he will be missed by all that knew him.

"T" was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Clarence Elvin Simmons, Gordon Jean Simmons and Gary Lewis Simmons; and his loving wife Lola. Those left to cherish his memory are Deana Hooten with her husband Sheldon of Cassville, Missouri and Joni Walker and her husband Chris of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Sean Hooten of Branson, Missouri, Kala Hooten Webster and her husband Josh of Gentry Arkansas, Shayla Walker, Charles Walker, and Kerri Walker all of Amarillo. And 5 great grandchildren, Steven Hooten, Silas Webster, Cade Webster, Aliyah Walker and Avery Walker.

Daddy you gave so much of yourself to make sure us and our families were safe and happy and asked for nothing in return. Thank you for all the lessons in life. Thank you for helping and forgiving us always. Thank you for being the best daddy anyone could ever ask for. But most of all, thank you for loving us. You will be so terribly missed.
