Barbara Ilene Browning

Barbara Ilene Browning, 92, of Orange, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 28, 2022. She was born September 28, 1929 to Leona and Robert Phillips. She met her handsome husband, Charles, on a blind date. They eloped three months later, beginning a 64-year legacy of a wonderful life together, with Christ and family at the center of it all. She continued that legacy until the day she went to heaven.

The legacy continues through her two daughters: Sandra Emilio (husband Daniel) and Debi Cooke (husband Bruce); 7 grandchildren: Joel (Flora), Jonathan (Allison), Justin (Denise), Melissa, Jarod (April), Sean (Anna), and Jamison; 10 great-grandchildren: Jakob, Everett, Genevieve, Evelyn, Katelyn, Elizabeth, Brayden, Noah, Hannah and Abigail; two sisters and a brother and their families: Ollie Harvey, Mary Wilson and Bill Phillips as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Barbara was a full-time homemaker, providing a loving home to her family while actively serving in multiple roles in her church and always comforting and helping others less fortunate. She was best known for her overflowing joy, big smiles, compassion, loving and giving spirit. She loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed playing Crazy Eights card games, reading and working in her garden. Many of the beautiful Plumeria plants and trees in her Orange community came from sprigs from her giant Plumeria trees.

We are sadly grieving the loss of this marvelous mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but finding comfort and joy knowing she is finally reunited with our dad in heaven. She will be loved and remembered every day!

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Beachpoint Church, 17415 Magnolia Street, Fountain Valley, CA.
