Daisy Yamamoto

May 19, 1924 – Dec. 29, 2020. Daisy Toshiko Yamamoto was born and raised in Garden Grove, Ca. to the late Seikichi and Yasuko Aihara and passed away at West Anaheim Memorial hospital on Dec. 29, 2020

Daisy was preceded in death by her brothers Sam, Luis, and Henry. She is survived by son Ted.

Daisy attended and graduated Garden Grove High School. She was relocated to Poston, Arizona during World War II. She later moved to Chicago Illinois to visit her late brother Henry and found a job as a mother’s helper which included room and board.

Through mutual friends, she was introduced to Bob Yamamoto and married soon thereafter. Her only child, Ted Yamamoto was born in 1945. Daisy moved to live with her parents in Garden Grove after separating from marriage. Daisy attended accounting classes and several years as a payroll clerk for various companies. Her last job was with Standard Concrete and retired after 20 years with that company. On weekends and when she had time, she would help her late parents and brother on the family farm in Garden Grove.

After retirement, from her apartment, several times per year she would prepare a complete dinner for her son and his family, putting each dish of hot food inside her car trunk, back and front seat then deliver them to our home. We always looked forward to her delicious meals. Because of the risk of spreading COVID-19, we decided to express our loss by this notice.

No services or visitation are scheduled at this time. We appreciate those who remember my mother and the good times when she was alive. She will be missed and remembered for her care and devotion.

The family requests no flowers or koden(money), and appreciates your thoughts and prayers in her memory. For those who wish to express their thoughts, please add a memory to this website or you can write to: Ted Yamamoto and family 5411 Marview Dr. La Palma, Ca. 90623

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Yamamoto family.

I remember in my elementary school days going to several mochitsukis held in the Aihara barn ~ and when I would go to the main house, Daisy would always greet me with her sweet smile and pleasantness and engage in thoughtful conversation. That meant so much. May she rest in peace. ⚘

Our heartfelt condolences to Ted and the Yamamoto family.

"When we say good-bye to loved ones whose time on earth is done, We have faith their joys in Heaven will have only just begun.
We can celebrate their lives, their love, the blessings of their days, The happiness they gave to us in countless special ways..."
by Emily Matthews

Our remembrance of Daisy was a lovely kind nature of a lady always having a sweet smile for us. May she be resting comfortably in heavenly light.

Daisy was always happy at Anaheim Crest Nursing Home in Anaheim. All the staff working at the nursing home were always very helpful and took good care of her needs. She also enjoyed the food and activities.
