Time fades the memory of things that happened when us Cavitt kids were little so
when we think of Lillie May as a young girl many of the things that happened that
we wanted to remember is lost. However, there are memories that will linger
until our angels come to carry us home.
Lillie May (Cavitt) Williams is the oldest of the four Cavitt kids borne in Corning,
Arkansas to Ernie and Zelma Cavitt. Many times she became the "Little Marna"
watching over us kids while mom and dad worked in the field.
Lillie May grew up fast----even before she should have been required. While
Bobbie, Wanda, and Billy were still children, Lillie May started her family having
six children herself. Norman, Jimmy, Brenda, Joe, Donnie, and Kathy were her
babies whom she often bragged about. Joe and Donnie were taken from her at a
young age and Lillie May frequently expressed the fact that she missed them daily.
Lillie May accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior 25-30 years ago and always
had a testimony of her love for Him and His love for her. She lived the last years of
her life with a Child-like faith that there is a mansion waiting for her and in heaven
there will be no pain or heartaches there.
Lillie May lived her last years sharing a joyful spirit. Even in her bedfast physical
pain she was always willing to laugh and tell you about how much the Lord meant
to her.
All earthly chains that bound Lillie May have been cut and she is now free to fly to
the place she has longed for. She truly believed as the old gospel song says," This
world was not her home, she was just passing through. Her treasures were laid up
somewhere beyond the blue. The angles beckoned her to heavens open door...."
We believe Lillie May has now stepped through that door to: "Sing and shout the
victory!"
We are sad that her laughter can no longer be heard on earth but are happy for
her reward. As it says in l Thessalonians 4:13-18 "lf we believe that Jesus died
and rose, so too will God, trough Jesus, bring with Him those who have fallen
asleep.... For the Lord Himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an
archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the
dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always
be with the Lord.
We who are left behind must serve the Lord and again we will see Lillie May with
her new body in the presence of Jesus.
