Papa was someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about, someone to hold and someone to laugh or cry with, someone to learn from and someone to respect, someone to listen to and someone to talk to, someone to try and impress, and, someone, most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer. 

He truly was the Marlon Brando – The Godfather of the family. When he walked into the room, everyone knew he had arrived and the room would light up with joy and positive energy. When he would speak, everyone would listen to his words of wisdom. When he would laugh, he would laugh until he cried. When he would give, he would give his own clothes off his back to keep you safe and warm. And when he would love, he loved with a full heart of humility. 

	They say that in a time of crisis, a portrait of a strong family is derived from a strong leader. During a time of crisis, a weak family will be split apart. However, a STRONG family will always come together. The reason we’re a strong family is because of him. The loved ones sitting next to you’re left and right is because he brought us here to show us how strong we truly are together. 

	When it came down to family conflict, he was always the mediator and the glue to stick together. He would never force anything on anybody but provided sage guidance, options and pathways for a resolution without ever splitting apart. Even at times when we didn’t agree with him, we would somehow stray towards to his advice to come together without realizing it.


	If he didn’t have the courage to cross the Pacific Ocean to start a new life, who knows where we would be today. If it weren’t for his courage, I wouldn’t have met the love of my life. If it weren’t for his courage, we would not be given the blessed lives we’re given to, today. Persistence is the key to success for a better life. Papa didn’t grow up rich or wealthy but the life he provided for all of us is something money can’t buy. He taught us to be persistent in life. To keep moving forward until the very end in everything we do. To always finish the job until the very end. 

	Our memories of him will always be with us and each of us will have our own individual ones with him. For me, it was the Saturday mornings cleaning the churches at 5am with JR. Then afterwards, getting a dozen donuts on the way home so we can watch Saturday morning cartoons. Or, when he would miss a day of work so he can attend my first wrestling match to show his support. There’s even several of us in this room that he taught us how to prepare for our drivers license and I remember he would yell every 2 minutes – not out of hate or discontent but it’s his way of communicating that we we’re not driving properly. My most favorites were when Megan flew from Florida for an extended weekend and we surprised him at home. I don’t think I’ve ever seen his eyes and smile light up so much. 
 
	The values he left for us is: family over everything. Friends will come and go but family will always be there no matter what. He taught us that hard work doesn’t end and an education should be something we value because not everyone is granted or blessed with one. He’s truly happy that he was able to witness his children receive the education that he was never afforded one through his life. And because of him, we’re all in a better place. 


We’re all gathered here today because of a bright cause – and not a dark one. 
As he stands here in this room with us, know that he wants us to continue to live our lives to the fullest and not dwell on his passing because it was the most peaceful way to pass – surrounded by his loved ones praying over him. I know for certain that he would say something like this because I could see him in person saying so. 

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your family. 

Always give a word or a sign to greet when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. Treat everyone with respect regardless his or her socioeconomic status. 

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Always be thankful each day you’re alive and realize you’re far richer than you may think. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

Time heals all things. His time on Earth, he was constantly helping and healing others through his words, wisdom and his love. Everybody gravitated towards him for just about anything you can think of. Surround yourself with those who will lift you to a whole different level in life. 


It’s difficult to forget but know that he is no longer suffering. Instead of recollecting on his “goodbye’s”, re-shift your mind to his “hello’s” as those are always great memories to have. 
-	Remember that he lived a fulfilling life and a heart full of humility.
-	Remember that he’s the reason why we’re here together.
-	Remember that it takes the utmost courage to start a new life on foreign land in order to provide a better one for his family. 
-	Remember his bright smile after he hasn’t seen you in days, months or years.
-	Remember that he always expressed his love not only through words but was more powerful through actions.
-	Remember that he’s always with us to talk and he will respond in his own unique way. 
This poem I’m about to read is from the unknown but I feel it’s something dad would’ve written:

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

I love you, dad. I promise I will give the same amount of love and affection for my future son or daughter as he you given me. 

Before I turnover to my mom for the closing statements, I’d like to say a bible verse dedicated to my dad’s happiness.

John 16:22. “Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.”


This past year has been good and bad for some reasons. Bad cause of COVID of course. But that past year was a blessing in disguise. I was able to spend a lot of time with my dad having lunch and dinner with him all the time. I didn’t appreciate it at the time but now looking back I wish I could go back and relive those moments with him. You forget and take the little things for granted so I’ve learned to be grateful with the people you love.

I knew growing up we didn’t have a whole lot but that didn’t stop the way that my dad loved us. Growing up my dad was the type of person to give what he could as much as he could. I remember this time at Disney I must’ve been 5 or 6 and we were coming off a ride into the store at DisneyLand. I wanted a toy so badly I was crying but my mom didn’t want to get it for me because we didn’t have the money to spend. Of course my dad went back to get it cause he didn’t want to see me cry, anything like that Just to make his kids happy. Even though we didn’t really have the money to spend, he spent whatever last money he could on his kids just to see them smile.
My dad was also the type of person to always help another person in any way he could. If it was a family member, friend, or even a stranger, he found a way to help. For example, he would save our empty water bottles for our Gardner of 20 years. And would give him the recyclables every week to help him out. Shortly after When papa passed away, I saw a man come to the house he was on his bicycle looking inside in the trash can outside. I asked him are you looking for bottles? He said yes he told me my dad would too give him the recyclables every week when he would stop by. And I had told him what happened to papa. He said “ I’m really sorry to hear that, you’re dad is a good guy, I didn’t really know him too long but from what I did know from him he’s a good person, I’m going to miss talking to him in the morning, he would always help me out” The fact that my dad had an impact on a random person means the world. That comes to show how big his heart was.


My dad was the type of the person to give. He gave and never expected anything in return. He loved above and beyond. As you can see, people all over the world loved my dad and cherished every moment they had with him . His laugh was contagious, his humor was unforgettable, & his smile is something you could never forget. When I think about my dad. I think about how Noble and strong a person he was . No matter what he went through on the inside, he always dedicated his life to making others feel special. Whether it was one year or 10 years, he left a footprint in our hearts that will forever have an impact on our life.

I remember every time I was sick, when I was younger he would take me to my favorite place to get soup. I would finish my large bowl and I would look at his bowl, I was still hungry he would give me his half of his only eating a few bites. This shows that no matter what he does puts others in front of himself.

If my dad has ever lifted your spirits or made you feel better in any way, put a smile on your face, he truly loved you. Now let’s keep smiling and honor the life he lived & carry on his legacy of being the amazing person he was. 

We all know that he is dancing in the sky having a drink of henenesy & celebrating the life he lived with all of us. Just know he is laughing & cracking jokes with the other angels. 

Every memory, every hug, every moment will forever be cherished 
Papa, You are strong, you are wise, you are the walking angel in our lives 
I now know and understand now why we grieve. Grief is love persevering for a person., it continues on. We grieve because we loved him so much. We grieve because we have loved. How lucky we are to have experienced that love.
I hope to live a selfless and giving life like you papa I hope to be half the man you were. I’m blessed to be your son.

Thank you for adopting us into your family 30 years ago. You were a man with a golden heart! You helped countless people without expectations despite working multiple jobs and fulfilling family obligations. We are so blessed to have been part of your life. My memories with you are so comical & hysterical that life didn’t feel so depressing despite our hardships. Your legacy of love, light & laughter will forever live on inside all of Us! I just know that when I look up in the skies, I’ll be seeing your smiles 👼🏽😇 until we meet again! We love you forevermore🙏💗💗💗

What I’ll miss about you the most is the extended care that you gave to your family, especially when you used to call me to ask pag “Kumain na ba si Lyndon”, showing how much of a great man that you were Papa. There is no one in the world like you, only the one Lito Muyot.
 
Although it’s sad that you’re no longer here with us, it gives me immense feeling knowing that you are no longer in pain. Whilst you’re not here, I will do the very best in my powers to give the boys and Tita Mina the amount of love and care that you did during your time.

Kuya/Papa Lito,

Thank you for being someone I can look up to while I was growing up.  Looking back, I learned so much from you – being generous and accepting of people, being positive and having a sense of humor. I am amazed at how you were able to give so much of yourself to other people, and to me. Thank you for being a father to me.  When I talk to Ate, I always say that I wish you could be proud of me someday.  

Thank you for leading by example.  I will miss your laughter, your jokes, and how you tease Ate.  I will miss your comfort and kindness.      

Maraming marami pong salamat sa pagmamahal mo. I have never met a man so kind, loving, selfless, and so generous. Mahal na mahal po namin kayo - Joboy and Clar

Tito Lito,  you have  been my second father and I’ll be forever grateful for all the love you showed me ♥️ .  I will always cherish all the good memories. I will miss you so much 🤗 Until we meet again .  

My brother who I dearly love, when I found out that you were on your sick bed, I wish I could stop your pain & suffering but only God can do that.  I was so glad that I was able to spend time with you on your last night. Although I was saddened to let you go I cannot continue to see you suffer & prayed for your peaceful departure here on earth. 
Thank you for being such a great & caring brother and for all the love you have given to me and my family.  I will miss hearing your voice on the phone & checking on me all the time.

Tito Daddy Lito as I have dearly called you every time we talked, you have been a father figure to me & my siblings since childhood.  You have left so many good memories to all of us & I have countless memories of you to the very end of your life that I will keep with me forever.  You have welcomed everyone in your life with open arms & have touched the lives of so many people around you.  
As you journey through life, you leave footprints wherever you go - footprints of love and kindness, humor and inspiration, courage and compassion.  Even when you are gone, I can still look back and clearly see the trail you left behind - a trail bright with hope that invites us to follow. 
You are a trooper...I will miss you so much.  This is not a goodbye, until we meet again.

Papa, it’s hard to think that you are gone. Pero it gives me hope knowing you are in God’s hands.
Everyone saw how great of a guy you were. To anyone that met you, they saw how great you were as a father, a grandfather, a husband, and a friend. I remember when I was young, you were running for Konsehal. Hindi mo alam, but I was following your campaign transport. Then you saw me following you on the street, and you told me to join you. Ever since then, I idolised you and you have always been my role model. 

Papa, I will miss you, especially your jokes. We love you! Not only me, but all the people around you. We will see each other  again. Love you so much Pa. From Lyndon and Eleanor. 

To my lolo, not a day has gone by where you haven’t been in my thoughts. I miss your infectious laugh, your jokes and your stories from back in the days. You always knew how to lift the mood up when you can and what I’ll miss the most is you calling out for me, not by my name but by the word ‘Hija’, as you have always treated me like I was your daughter. I will always look up to you as a role model but also look up to you,  up in heaven knowing I’m doing you proud. It sucks not having to celebrate my successes with you, but it comforts me knowing that you’ll be sat on my shoulders every step of the way like an angel you are. 

I miss you lolo but I know we’re only separated by time until we meet again. I want you to know that my love for you goes beyond than you’ll ever know. For the meantime, I want to share the one photo close to my heart that is so special for me. This photo was taken back in August 2016 where I first properly met you and Lola, posing right in front of In-N-Out burgers right after you picked us up from the airport. I should’ve known from this moment how obsessed we were all going to be with food and especially in-n-outs, since we couldn’t stop eating them on vacations. All the amazing memories really began from this moment. We shared so many similarities together and food was definitely one of them.

August 2016 was the year we really got the opportunity to visit Lolo in California. Through the time we spent with him, I really saw his kindness, humility, and one of a kind humour. It made me proud to say he is my Lolo. I saw firsthand how loved he was amongst his closest friends and family. He was one of a kind. I always used to say, often jokingly to him; Lolo there is only one Lito Muyot. Iba ka talaga. But now knowing that he has joined the Lord and is no longer on earth, it is more relevant now more than ever.  He is irreplaceable. No one can ever replace the wonderful presence he had.  

Lolo, I will miss you very very much. But your memories will live forever. We will miss your small little gestures of love. Such as when me, Pam and Bentong sing“ang guapo guapo” to you every time, and you would dance in return. Or when we would blow kisses to you and you would catch it and put it all in your wallet to save as a joke haha. Or when you would sing “I left my heart in San Francisco” on every call. Thank you Lolo for always being so generous to me, Pam and Bentong. We want to thank you and Lola Mina for always showing us love and kindness. Spending time with you and the rest of the family every summer gave me the best memories. And through you, we have met the most wonderful extended family and friends.

I know you will be guiding us all in heaven. And although the world has lost a wonderful man, it gives us peace knowing you are no longer in pain. So until we meet again, I will reminisce the wonderful memories we have with you. I love you forever kulit.  Many hugs and kisses, from ‘Aba. ❤️ 

I’ll start this journey from August 2016 where my sisters and I, first met Lolo Lito, Lola Mina and our titos. What a great time i had since then. I got the opportunity to meet the people closest to his heart, showing me the many ways of how to love unconditionally. I will forever treasure the lessons he gave to me of being humble in everything i do, and knowing when to lend a hand for those in need but more importantly, showing me how to love.  

He was a very gentle soul with the best humour a guy can offer. If you were ever feeling low he’ll know how to pick you straight up and make you realise why you were even upset in the first place; that’s how great he was. I remember the nicknames he used to call me and it was jay and bentong, until one stuck and it was benji, I’ll remember the way he used to shout me downstairs and say benji, then came up to me and squeezed my cheeks as he looked me in the eye asking how i was and if i had ate yet. 

Lolo i thank you, through you i met the best family & friends I could ever ask for. The vacations are special with memories shared with you and will never be forgotten. I will carry on making you proud until we meet again. I love you so much! To Lola mina and the boys my heart is forever with you.

RIP to my dearest Tito Lito. Thank you for being the “papa” to us all! It was fun growing up with you and your family! I can truly say that all my ❤️ for Disney came from you! Thank you so much for always treating me like your own daughter! You’ve taught me that with hard work and a smile you can get far and be happy! I remember waking up at 4am just so we can go sell at the swap meet! When you’re young you don’t appreciate all the lessons that you’re taught, but now that I have my own family and kid - I try and teach him the same things I learned from you! You taught me that you can do anything as long as you remember to be humble. You’ve always shown by example and that’s why so many people ❤️ you! You’ve always been so supportive and have always cheered us on with whatever we did. You were an incredible positive light in our lives and we will miss you so much! You’ll always be in my ❤️ and I’m so grateful that you were in my life! We ❤️❤️❤️ you Tito - Ikaw Lang! 😭

To my dearest Tito Lito, I don’t even know where to begin...I still could not believe you are now in heaven. Sometimes I wish people like you who possess a big heart will live on this earth forever. You are such a blessing to so many people. I am so proud that you are my Uncle, my friend and a father-like figure to me. I will never forget when we prayed together and you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior and Lord. The last few days when you asked a question if you are going to die? It broke my heart into pieces cos I know it will take a miracle for you to live longer. However I told you that you are going to live if that’s what your heart desires. On your last night, knowing that you have not open your eyes and have not eaten for several days I prayed by your side as I can feel your body moved as I was telling you that you have done well here on earth and all your love ones are ok. I know you could sense that once again my heart is breaking when I ask you to go towards the light when you see it. That’s the door to heaven and God is waiting for you and all the pain will be gone. I will always remember you Tito Lito as you will forever have a place in my heart. Your courage and valor is something to behold.  You have dealt with things in your life according to your terms including passing away.  I have always admire your love for your family and we are truly blessed to be a part of your life. There’s no goodbyes because I know I will see you in heaven in the future. I’m sure you want everyone to be joyful as they celebrate you and your life. I will miss seeing you face as we laugh together and cry together in good and bad times. Many thanks for all the good memories you left behind! Daddy Lito - you’re the most caring and loving person I know and I am so happy to call you family. You may not be my biological father but you sure have a father's heart and a special place in mine. I have known Lito as a protective husband, father, grandfather,  brother, uncle and friend.  Lito also had a soft place in his heart for the needy and the less fortunate, relatives, friends and strangers alike.  All his kindness will be remembered by many.  I salute you, Lito, for facing your final days with utmost dignity.   Lito is now in the hands of his Creator to eternity.   May you Rest In Peace, friend.

Tito Lito was always a joy to be around. Although he may have spent more time with our parents - speaking on behalf of my cousins- he never failed to make all of us feel welcomed and loved. With his jokes and his compliments, or even with his eagerness of knowing how and what we’ve been up to in life, Tito Lito always showed his love. 

We were saddened to know that his time was here; yet at peace because he is now at rest. We love you Tito Lito, Tita Romina, JR, Milo, and Lloyd. Thank you for all that you guys have done for us 💙 

Rest in paradise Tito Lito ~ Until we meet again. 

Daddy Lito, the man who I always get to sit down on family/friends gatherings. You have the biggest heart that I know and I am glad to call you family. We may not be blood related but in my heart you’ll always be a father. I will miss your silly joke of telling people that I am your long lost daughter. We love you dearly and you will forever be missed. You may rest in our almighty father’s arms. 

He was such a loving, fun and caring friend - We will miss you always Lito - you are now in good hands walking side by side with our Lord Jesus, where sorrow and pain doesn’t exist . We love you Lito - May you rest in peace!
