Honored to be present as my Uncle,by way of my Father’s cousin,  was laid down to rest.
I can recall visiting him with joy knowing he was an Alegre. I specifically recall his joyful humor and positive attitude. What a brave role model who left us with Military Honors and Purple Heart!

So, blessed to have known my Uncle Louis. May you Rest In Peace and I wil see you in heaven!!!

I wish I could say I had more memories of Louis in the last 6 years that I've known him. But the fact is that my memories of him are but a handful.  But it's not about how many memories we shared, it's about what we made of each one. My memories of him hold such valuable life lessons about family. To those who knew him, they knew he was beginning to not be all there in his mind, but his ever-loving heart made up for it. His heart gave so much, it almost seemed like that was the cure to his fading mind. He showed me we don't remember loved ones with our minds, but with our hearts.  I am without a doubt lucky to hold one of his final engravings so closely, as his memory is forever engraved in my heart. Thank you Louis C. Alegre for being a part of my life.
