Melvin L. Furr October 1934 - January 2012 Resident of Placentia, CA after a courageous battle with cancer passed away peacefully January 15th at his home in Placentia. Mel was born in Mitchell South Dakota and at the age of 5 moved to Anaheim, CA. Mel graduated from Anaheim High School were he met his wife, Peggy. Mel spent 4 years in the Navy then worked as a carrier for the Placentia Post Office until he retired.
Mel is survived by his 3 children, Terry, Mel Jr. & Mike along with 9 grand & great grandchildren , sisters Marlene, Darlene and Kathy and scores of friends who were blessed to know him.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Pierce Brothers Anaheim at 2425 W. Lincoln Ave. Anaheim, CA. Burial and Colorguard Service to follow at Loma Vista Memorial Park 701 E. Bastanchury Road Fullerton, CA.
