Michael Fonseca Medina will be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated man who gave of himself without hesitation, always placing the needs and well-being of his family alongside his own. He was deeply cherished by his family and friends, not only for the love and care he showed them, but also for the warmth and humor he brought wherever he went. He had a way of easing difficult moments with laughter, bringing comfort to those around him, and drawing people closer together.
Mike was proud to have both served in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division, and to have been a guru in martial arts. His time served and his teachings shaped habits that stuck with him in life: take stock of the situation, get your bearings, and kick ass without hesitation.
He was stationed in several countries prior to meeting Cynthia Villar, the love of his life, in Germany. They traveled and laughed around the world, then eventually settled in California in 1990, where Mike embraced one of the most important roles of his life: being an ever loving father to his children, Kaila and Kristof.
Throughout his life, Mike's devotion to his family remained at the heart of who he was. His strength, sacrifices, humor, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the family he built and in the countless memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
We’ll continue to find pieces of him in ourselves, in the way we love, and in the moments that remind us of him. His presence in our lives will never truly go away, as he will always live on in our hearts and in the pieces of him we carry with us.
