

Anaheim, CA — Normand Henri Bolduc February 10, 1923 - June 25, 2010 Resident of Anaheim, CA for 48 years. Norm, as he was known by most, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. The youngest of 10 children, he was born in Auburn, Maine to Ernest and Marie Anne Bolduc (Gagné).
Norm had a strong work ethic that began early in his childhood and would continue throughout his life. As a youth, he worked various jobs, from a paperboy to a grocery clerk. In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he would begin a lifetime of celebrated and highly decorated military service that would span over 42 years and include an Assault Arrowhead for Omaha Beach in Normandy, 6 Battle Stars, and served as a Combat Liaison Officer to the French Army. He also fought with the French Underground on Special Assignment. He served in the OSS, which was the precursor to the CIA.
He received countless American and French honors and medals including the Bronze Star, The Purple Heart, The Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Components Achievement Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European, African or Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation (for service in Occupied Germany) Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He also received several awards and medals for his work with the French Army and “French Underground” including the Croix du Guerre, Croix du Combattant, Medaille des Evades, Decoration pour des Blessures (French Purple Heart), the Medaille Commemorative de la Guerre 1939-1945 and the French War Medal WWII.
Though he retired from the Army in 1983 with the rank Chief Warrant Officer 4, he always considered himself an Army Man. He was proud to be a soldier in the U.S. Army and truly loved his country with all his heart. Every chance he had, he enjoyed
telling his War stories and would often say with a laugh, “Who knows, they still might call me up for Active Duty.” For 18 years until his formal retirement in 1978, he worked for Northrop (now Northrop Grumman) as a Budget Analyst.
He was an avid reader and very passionate about military and worldwide history, family genealogy, traveling, his beloved Angels baseball and time with family and friends. Norm was a great teacher, a man full of knowledge of all worldly things and matters. He was loving and kind and committed to enjoying every moment he had with his beautiful wife of 66 years, Virginia “Ginny” Mae, Beaird of Rapid City, SD who remained to the end, his most trusted confidant, his loyal companion and his one true love, for whom he always remained strong and loyal, always her “Brave Soldier”.
In addition to his loving wife Ginny, Norm is survived by his children; Robert Bolduc, Graham, WA, Cheryl Hamric, Anaheim, CA, Gary Bolduc, Knoxville, TN, Michel Bolduc, Anaheim Hills, CA and Denise Evans, Orange, CA and their respective spouses as well as his older sister, Lucille “Lu” Harkins of Bath, Maine. Norm is also the proud grandpa to 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
