Bud was born on May 3, 1941 to Alvae and Madelia (Goings) Coon in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a proud veteran; during his time in the Army he spent time in Germany, and during his time in the Air Force he spent time in Vietnam. Bud enjoyed car racing, loved golf, and liked to fish. He was a great cook and friends and family loved his potato salad and delicious fried chicken. Bud was witty, smart, sarcastic, and had a great sense of humor. At the end of the day, he loved nothing more than spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
