

Betty Jean Perry, 83, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on July 11, 2026 at the Suites of Ankeny in Ankeny, Iowa.
She was born on April 1, 1943 in Spencer IA, the daughter of John and Margaret Eeten. She graduated from Milford High School in 1961 and from Iowa State University in 1966 with an Home Economics Education degree. In 1966 she married Michael Don Perry her college sweetheart, after she graduated from Iowa State University. Her first job was teaching at Tech High School in Des Moines where she ran the Tea Room that served lunch for the downtown business workers until her children arrived. She worked later for Van Tuyl Photography, Allied Life and Principal Life Insurance where she retired from.
Mike and Betty enjoyed playing in their two monthy card groups with close friends. They mainly played bridge and pinochle and also enjoyed 500 with family. They were usually busy with Iowa State athletic events, having season tickets for football, men's and women's basketball. They went to many Big 12 basketball tournaments in Kasas City. Go Cyclones! She spent her last fours years at the Suites of Ankeny where she made lots of new friends and was taken care of very well.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Perry, daughter Alison Thompson (Perry), son Todd Perry, parents John and Margaret Eeten and her brother Bob Eeten.
Betty is survived by her son Troy. Her son-in-law Kenny (Heather) Thompson, grandchildren Tyler (Kate) Thompson, Madison (Aiden) Alderson, Logan Krier, Jackson Thompson and several great-grand children. Brother-in law Jon Perry and sister-in law Ronda (Mike )Stump and numerous neices and nephews and many beloved friends.
