OBITUARY
Carl Adrian Currie
February 7, 1964 – December 22, 2020
Carl Adrian Currie, 56, of Ankeny passed away at home on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 surrounded by family. He was born on February 7, 1964 to Jesse Lee Sr. and Lou Henri (Maclin) Currie in Brownsville, Tennessee. Carl attended Haywood High School and was very active in sports. After graduating, he moved to Des Moines in 1984 where he went to work at an ice house. He then went on to work for Academy Roofing and later became an independent contractor. Carl was a hard-worker, but he also liked to socialize and laugh. He had no trouble making friends. He loved fishing and watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers and the Boston Celtics.
Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; a brother, Wayne E. Maclin Sr.; and a host of aunts and uncles. Left to cherish his memory are seven siblings, Robert Earl Maclin, Altha Ruth Maclin, Jesse Jr. (Karen) Currie, Jeffrey (Kate) Currie, Anita (Eddie) Rice, Troy (Tracie) Currie, and Dianne Currie; a daughter, Adrian Currie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Animal Rescue League.
