Christina Bodling

Christina Ann Bodling, age 43, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and three brain tumors. A celebration of Christina's life will be held at Heartland Church in Ankeny, on July 10th, 2026, at 10:00am.

Christina was born on October 8, 1982, at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Christina studied in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), reflecting her caring nature and desire to help others. Throughout her career, she worked in retail and customer service, where she was known for her friendly smile, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness.

Outside of work, Christina found joy in life's simple pleasures. Christina had a puppy named Molly, that she loved dearly. She loved cooking and she also enjoyed spending time on her computer, whether learning new things, staying connected with others, or exploring her interests online. Christina had a special fondness for collecting teddy bears, a hobby that brought her comfort and happiness over the years. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Heartland Church in Ankeny, where she found fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual strength.

Christina is survived by her parents, Robert and Barbara Bodling; her brother, Andrew Bodling; uncles and aunts, Tom Mulligan, MJ Mulligan (Gerard) Beedenbender, Donna (Jude) Wescoat and Annette (Dennis) Morris. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Christina is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Arline Mulligan and Clarence and Annie Bodling; her uncle, Glen Bodling; and her fiancé, Mike Fitz-Gerald.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, her friends and family in Canada, Texas, California, Florida, New York, and Iowa.

Though her time here was far too short, Christina's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
