Dale Arthur Goins

Dale Goins, age 89, passed away on Monday March 15, 2024. Services will be held at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W 1st St, Ankeny, Iowa, on Saturday, March 23, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Dale was born on May 6, 1934 in Knoxville, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur and Leota (Albaugh) Goins. Dale was a lifetime resident of Ankeny.

Dale met Joann Baughman in high school and were married on February 24, 1956. They had one son, Mark. Dale served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. Dale worked at Armstrong Tire and Rubber for 36 years. After retirement, Dale and Joann would winter in Texas and Arizona. In his free time, Dale enjoyed fishing, all kinds of sport activities, but playing pool was his game. He enjoyed spending time with his son and grandkids.

Dale is survived by his wife, Joann; his son Mark (Peggy) Goins; grandchildren Anne Macleod (Che Hoyka) and Matt Goins (Ashley Keller); great grandchildren Kaitlyn Patterson and Brian Bevington; sisters-in-law Nancy Baughman and Rose Baughman. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Leota Goins; sister Norma Jean Olson; brothers-in-law Clifford Baughman and Danny Baughman.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dale Goins may be made to Ankeny First United Methodist Church.
