Doris Elaine Wilhelm, 83, passed away surrounded by family, Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St., Ankeny. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines St., Ankeny with graveside services 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, at Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Doris was born April 10, 1928 in Palmyra, Nebraska to Emma and Nels Peter Andersen. She was a long time resident of Ankeny, a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved to swim at the YMCA.
Survivors include daughter, Jean Stephany (James) Kecy of Chattanooga, TN; sons, John Wilhelm of Omaha, NE, and Tim (Tammy) Wilhelm of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Wilhelm.
