

Eldon Lind, 86, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017. A visitation and a celebration of Eldon’s life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the celebration of life at 12 p.m.
Eldon Verle Lind was born August 23, 1930, in Metz, Iowa, to Elmer and Clara (Winslow) Lind. He grew up in Colfax where he received his education. Following graduation, Eldon enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Korean War.
On April 14, 1955, Eldon was united in marriage to Marilyn Jean Bohne. They were blessed with two children, Diana and Tony. Eldon made a career with MidAmerican Energy as a storesman.
Eldon was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing card games. He cherished daily visits with Marilyn to take care of their grand and great-grand puppies. Most of all, Eldon treasured time spent with Marilyn, his children, and grandchildren.
Eldon will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn; children, Diana (Frank) Baratta and Tony Lind; grandchildren, Devon (Bethany) Baratta and Alec Baratta; and brother-in-law, Keith Nicodemus. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, George Lind, Ruth Wadsworth, Lois Beals, and twin sister, Evelyn Nicodemus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Colfax Country Club.
