Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Ankeny Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Sheffield Cemetery, Story City, IA.
Eva Fintel was born September 12, 1924, to Lola and George Fintel in Vinton, IA. On May 12, 1943 in San Francisco, CA, she was united in marriage to Gordon Jelinek, and they were blessed with three children. The couple spent most of their married life in Waterloo, and later moved to Ankeny to be close to their daughter, Frances. Eva moved to Sterling Pointe in Princeton, MN her last couple of years to be near her sons, Dennis and Scott.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, fishing and cooking for her family. Most of all, Eva loved spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and games.
Eva is survived by her three children; Frances (Norm) Honderd, Dennis (Mary) Jelinek, and Scott (Jeri) Jelinek; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Fintel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Adams; two brothers, Bill and Tom Fintel; and two step-siblings, Albert and Evelyn Scroggins.
