

Evan Stadlman, 64, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Ankeny Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at Ankeny Presbyterian Church.
Evan was born May 2, 1952, in Sac City, Iowa to Gaylord and Doris (Woehl) Stadlman. He graduated from Sac City High School in 1970 and then received his Bachelor’s degree in Ag Education from Iowa State University in 1974. Evan was a Marketing and Communications Executive, most recently working for McCormick in Johnston and retiring in November of 2015. Evan was united in marriage to Rebecca Sue Murphy on June 28, 1975 in LeMars, IA.
Evan was a member of the Ankeny Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, Polk County Extension, ISU Alumni Association, Farm House Fraternity, Leadership Iowa Graduate, National Agri-Marketing Association, where he received the best of PR Award and the FFA Foundation, where he received his distinguished service award. In his free time, Evan enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and canning and preserving all of his fruits and vegetables. He also spent time traveling with his wife, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and had an interest in photography.
Left to cherish in his memory are Evan’s wife Becky, children, Sean Stadlman of Eden Prairie, MN, Megan Stadlman of Lindenhurst, IL, Marisa (Travis) Roseberry and soon to be grandson of West Des Moines, IA; brother, Neil (Nancy) of Cedar Falls, IA; brothers-in-law, Eric Threat of Kansas City, MO, Pat Murphy of LeMars and Bob (Diana) Murphy of Springfield, OR; sisters-in-law, Kathy Connolly (George Gaffaney) of Chicago, IL and Jean (Bob) Langie of Deerfield, IL; Evan is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Michael Murphy and parents-in-law, John (Verna) Murphy. It should be known, Evan was always Verna’s favorite.
