We were so sorry to hear of Evan's passing.  We recall when he and Irv taught at Rockwell City in the late '70s, and Evan was the Ag  instructor there.  He helped our son Mark make the sturdiest, neatest picnic table!  Our daughter Anne babysat with your children, Becky, as you recall.  It was nice that we all ended up in Ankeny.  :-)

It was always a pleasure to work with Evan at several of his various agency roles and will be missed. He mentioned last summer at Ag Editors in Pheonix how he was anxious to retire and spend time with his loving wife and family.  So very sorry for your loss.

We met in Cub Scouts all those years ago and bumped into each other through our school years  but yes, Becky, it wasn't until you and Evan became an item that I really got to know and appreciate him, back in those days when we all thought we could save the world. He was always friendly, always smiling, and always helpful. He finished the race way too soon, but take some comfort in knowing that he made a big corner of the world a lot better. Gary Cummins  Son of Aunt Bea  Youngest memories are when my brother Gene and I would get to go out to the farm and explore all the barns.  We were probably getting in trouble somehow.   First tractor I ever drove was there.   As a teenager I remember working the chicken operation one whole day with Evan. Please accept my condolences on the loss of Evan. I first met Evan as an ISU student and FarmHouse Fraternity member. Then, and in subsequent years, he was, and has been, a fine example of professionalism and leadership in agriculture, which I always respected and admired.

Evan was truly an exceptional individual.  I appreciated my interaction with him over the years.  Our condolences.

Evan was constantly the gentleman, great spouse, and involved parent always concerned about the health and welfare of others. He fought a gallant struggle during his final illness and even then volunteered to undergo medical trials that would benefit others. May his faith, values, and example be a source of prized memories for family, relatives, friends and communities where his presence was so appreciated. Of course, it should be noted, behind such a praiseworthy life there was his supportive spouse Becky. Thank you both for lives worth living.

Dear Becky and family,
I will always remember the example of a loving couple you and Evan were to me. Then the devoted  parents once Sean came along.  It is difficult to think of one of you without  the other, however there was always that loving bond present, that love that will continue through you and your children. Our prayers  are with you. Though we did not connect with Evan in his personal life, we did have a business relationship with him as a client of McCormick. Evan was experienced and accomplished in his profession, and always the professional.
