A funeral mass will be held at Saturday, November 3, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester, 119 W Fayette street. Gary’s family will greet guest prior to the service. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph cemetery following services in Greeley, Iowa.
Gary was born on May, 15, 1945, in Manchester, Iowa, to Fred and Louise (Mensen) Beohm. Gary grew up in Greeley, IA, he graduated from West Delaware high school in 1963. Following graduation Gary continued his education by obtaining a Doctor of Motors degree from Denver Automotive Institute in 1966 in Denver, CO, he pursued additional education from DMACC at the age of 58. He met the love of his life Mary Jo in 1968 and the couple was married July 13, 1968. The couple was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Jesse.
Gary had the opportunity to work in a variety of fields, but always involved the use of his hands, he worked the majority of his life as a machinist, working for International Harvester Tractor Works. After Gary retired he worked delivering Motor Homes for Bennet which allowed for him and Mary Jo to travel together.
Gary enjoyed looking at cars, playing cards, watching movies and most of all being with family. He wasn’t a member of any formal organization but he was a proud Sam’s and Costco member.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; children, Jennifer (Bill) Austin, Jesse (Lisa) Beohm, grandchildren, Allison Austin, Ryan Austin, Amber Austin, Jake Austin; brothers, Bill (Marilyn) Beohm, Allen (Carolee) Beohm, sister, Gloria (Jim) Whetstone, many sister-in-law's, brothers-in-law's, nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's.
