James "Jamie" B. Presnell
January 23, 1972 – August 21, 2018
James “Jamie” Presnell of Polk City, IA was born January 23, 1972 and passed away August 21, 2018 at the age of 46. He was in construction before his car accident in 1999. Jamie defied all odds even though he was left paralyzed. To know Jamie, was to know the personification of courage. Many people achieve moments of great courage, few are called on to show it continuously for almost 20 Years.
Growing up Jamie was always climbing trees and playing with the neighborhood kids. Everyone knew who Jamie was because he was a foot taller than everyone his age. He was quite the jokester as well. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed pheasant hunting with his yellow lab, Abby. He loved playing basketball so much he had an awesome hook shot that was more like a line drive to the hoop. After his accident, he became an avid Clasher of The Clash of Clans. His clan mates kept him active and he was the joker of the club. His teammates say he was a “Legend”. He enjoyed watching movies and hanging out with friends. Jamie was a huge Cyclone fan and huge fan of the Raiders. He never missed a game. He would have loved to see the Raiders play in Vegas. He became an Uncle to Jessica on December 11, 2017. He loved spending time with her. His face lit up every time he saw her. He was anxiously awaiting to take Jessica for walks so she could “man” the joystick on his wheelchair. Jamie will always be remembered as a courageous fighter. We miss him so very much.
Jamie is survived by his father, James Presnell; brother John Presnell; brother Jeff (Sharee)Presnell; favorite niece Jessica Marie Presnell; Uncle John “Kerry” (Emily) Presnell; cousin Korey Presnell; Aunt Jerri Presnell; cousins Erika and Sidney Presnell.
