Jean Marie Turner

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Ankeny. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday at the church.

Jean Marie Behrens was born August 26, 1962, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada to Marvin and Eileen Behrens. She grew up and received her education in Treynor, Iowa. Following graduation, Jean completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Wartburg College.

On September 19, 1987, Jean was united in marriage to Robert Lee Turner at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Des Moines. The couple made their home in Ankeny and have been blessed with four children; Dan, Sarah, Nick, and Rachel. Jean made her career at MidAmerican Energy as a dedicated employee with over 30 years of service as an accountant.

Jean has been a faithful and humble servant at Resurrection Lutheran Church. She has enjoyed cross-stitching and cooking for her family, always learning to perfect recipes. Jean was also a proud mother who loved to attend events for her children. Most of all, Jean treasured time sitting around the campfire with Bob at Webb Lake in Minnesota and time spent with her children and entire family.

Jean will be deeply missed by her husband, Bob; children, Dan Turner, Sarah Turner, Nick Turner, and Rachel Turner; father, Marvin Behrens; siblings, Linda (Steve) Kenny, Mark (Leah) Behrens, and Susan (Chad) Hunter; sister-in-law, Karen (Rex) Evison; and nieces and nephews, Alex, Samuel, Austin, Emma, and Emily. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eileen Behrens.
