June Darlene Ugolini passed away in the loving presence of her family on Saturday, January 31, at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny. She was the wife of Marion Ugolini and the mother of three adult children, the eldest of whom went to be with his Lord in 2013. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 29, 1932, she was the daughter of James and Frances Grady. She attended school in Des Moines and moved to Madrid upon her marriage to Marion, later moving with her family to their home of over forty years in Ankeny.
June worked at John Deere in Ankeny for over fifteen years and then spent many years as a mother and caregiver at home with her family. Mrs. Ugolini later returned to work until her retirement at the Merle Hay Sears department store. June and her family also owned and maintained rental properties in Des Moines, and she was a tireless and caring worker with every endeavor she undertook.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her son, Steve (Kelly) Ugolini; daughter, Angie Ugolini; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Toni, and Marcus Ugolini, all of Ankeny. She also leaves a sister, Maurene Grady of Pleasant Hill. June was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Greg Ugolini.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:00am at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, Iowa with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services at 9:00am Friday, February 6, 2015 at the church.
