Lawrence Eric Anderson

A Celebration of Life will be held at New Hope Church, 25712 US-6, Adel, IA 50003, officiated by Pastor Eric Trout on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Time of Fellowship hosted by Restoration Church will follow at the church following the service.

Eric's ashes will be laid to rest at Sheffield Cemetery, Story City, Iowa at a later date.

Eric was born and raised in Tampico, IL. He grew up on a farm with his parents, Larry and Pat, and brothers, John and James. After graduating high school, he furthered his education at Marquette University before continuing onto dental school at University of Iowa.

After graduating from dental school, he began to build the life and career he was so proud of. In 1999, he purchased his first practice in West Des Moines. Shortly after, he earned his favorite title of dad when Tyler (2000) and Bella (2002) were born. He spent many years balancing work and family life, building a community within his office walls while still making it to every basketball game and school concert.

In 2012, he married the love of his life, Diana, and embraced not only a new chapter filled with overpouring love, but also the joy of becoming a stepfather to Jennifer and Andrew. He expanded his dental career by purchasing the Adel Dental Group practice in 2014. Being in the Adel area, reminded him of how much he loved the farm life he grew up knowing. In 2021, he purchased his dream property just outside of Earlham.

Whether he was taking trips with family and friends, working on projects, tending the land, or taking his grandbabies on ranger rides – he found happiness in the simple moments. His family will remember not only all that he accomplished, but the love, laughter and memories created along the way.

Eric leaves a huge void in many lives, but his legacy will live on through those he left behind. He will be missed dearly by his wife, Diana Anderson; his children, Tyler Anderson, Bella Anderson (Kolby Booge), Jennifer and Jacob Harrison, Andrew and Makayla Putz; his grandchildren, Carter, Baylor, Maren, & Langston Putz, Jaycee and Josie Harrison; his mother, Pat Anderson; his brothers, John and Kim Anderson, James and Kari Anderson; his mother-in-law, Fran Honderd; his brother-in-law, Brad and Jana Honderd, his sister-in-law, Dawn and Jay Block, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Anderson, and his father-in-law, Norm Honderd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted to establish a sanctuary on the property in Eric’s honor and to create a memorial scholarship fund for a local student pursuing an education in dentistry or business entrepreneurship.
