Lillian M Reeves

Lillian M. "Fritzi" Reeves, age 89, of Waukee, IA, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022. Fritzi was born August 11, 1932 in Granite City, IL, to Francis and Rose (Kish) DeZutter. Fritzi is survived by two children, Stephen D. Reeves of Polk City, IA, and Valerie Marie Hewitt of St. Charles, MO. She was preceded in death by her son Keith Carl Reeves and her husband Gurney "David" Reeves.

Fritzi was very active in sports and charitable activities. She was an accomplished bowler and golfer, and was accredited in 1974 by the US Library of Congress as a Braille Transcriber. Fritzi and her husband loved to travel both abroad and throughout the United States, and spent most of their retired years on the water, including weeks-long trips in their boat on the Intra-Coastal Waterways in Florida and at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Parkinson's confined Fritzi to wheelchairs for the last eight years of her life, but even that couldn't slow her down. She continued to go for drives with friends and family at every opportunity, and hosted many "Spring Fling" parties and Birthday parties. She donated to many charities and also crocheted small caps for infants, which were distributed through area hospitals.

Fritzi was always quick to smile and had a sharp wit and kind words for all she met. She touched the lives of many people; and while her presence on the Earth will be greatly missed, we rejoice in the knowledge of the Heavenly Reunion that awaits us.
