Mark was born on April 5, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to David Allen and Verla Maxine (Loghry) Stokely. He graduated from Woodward Granger High School in 1981. He was united in marriage to Anne Elizabeth Comstock on August 6, 1983 in West Des Moines, Iowa and to this union three children were born: Randy, Rachel and Elizabeth.
Mark was a caring, hardworking man. He worked for B&G Foods also known as Tones Spices until his retirement in 2022. After retirement, he volunteered at Caring Hands in Altoona. Mark was a devout family man who loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. The family enjoyed vacationing together, recently taking trips to Estes Park, Colorado, Niagara Falls, and the Grand Canyon. Mark loved playing with all of his grandchildren and fishing with Connor. He also enjoyed hiking on family vacations. When his children were growing up he could be heard shouting support for them over the cheering crowds at their events.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Anne; three children, Randy (Ashley) Stokely of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Rachel (Mike) Eggers of Polk City, and Elizabeth Stokely of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Connor, Kylee, Wyatt and Everett, and his brother, Neal Stokely of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Rex Comstock.
In memory of Mark, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AnkenyFuneralHome.com for the Stokely family.
