Mervin Lee Slump passed away peacefully Sunday, June 24th surrounded by family. He was born in Henderson, IA to Mervin Dale and Ruby Slump on April 26th, 1939.
Growing up he enjoyed hunting and fishing more than attending school. However, he went on to receive degrees from UNI and ISU. He spent his career in education, first teaching and later as a media and curriculum specialist at Heartland AEA. Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and playing poker with fiends. While attending UNI, he met Josephine (Jo) Fee who later became his wife of 55+ years.
Mervin is survived by wife Jo, sister Betty (John) Walters, brother Charles (Linda) Slump, his three sons, Chris, Rod (Debbie), Jeff (Jennifer) and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois Forsberg.
