Monica Jean Langenwalter

In accordance with her wishes there will be no formal services. She will be inurned at Cedar Township Cemetery in Fonda, Iowa.

Monica was born on June 30, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa to Larry Lewis and Sharon Kay (Chapman) Langenwalter. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1976. She attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She found her way back to the Ankeny area worked as the General Manager at The Distillery a country bar on south Ankeny blvd. During her time at The Distillery, she made many memories and stories that are still told to this day. Monica worked for 15 years as head of food and beverage for several hotels for over 15 years, traveling to different destinations as she worked in the hospitality industry. Monica loved to read books and dreamed of opening her own bookstore to share her love of reading with the public.

Monica is survived by her niece, Casey (Matt) Miller, and their children, Oliver and Dawson. She is preceded in death by her parents; Larry and Sharon Langenwalter; siblings, David Langenwalter and Jackie Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to the family and will be given to a charity of their choosing.
