Randie Bartleman

Randie was the eldest of six children born to Gilbert and Ardella Burgess on November 11, 1945 in Estherville, Iowa. She graduated from Estherville High in 1963 and moved to Polk City, Iowa in 1965. There she resided for over forty years raising her three sons, making life long friends. Throughout her life Randie was so much to so many and wore the titles of daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Outside of spending time with family and friends, Randie loved to quilt, knit, crochet, cross stitch and stained glass. She shared so many beautiful creations with all of us and was so incredibly talented. But the greatest gift she gave was the gift of self to others. Never was there a more genuine and kind woman to grace this earth. She will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Janet (Everett) Houge of Superior, Iowa, Don (Barb) Burgess of Phoenix, Arizona, Tom (Andrea) Burgess of McKinney, Texas, Bob Burgess of Estherville, Iowa, sons Greg (Angela) Bartleman of Ankeny, Iowa, Tim (Chandra) Bartleman of Polk City, Iowa, Andy (Sheryl) Bartleman of St. Charles, Iowa, grandchildren Austen, Holly, Joshua, Jacob, Rachel, Shelby, Rockwell, and Johnson as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Randie was preceded in death by her sister, Diane and her mother and father.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, February, 15th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. 1st Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16th at 1 p.m. with committal to follow at Union Cemetery in Polk City, Iowa.
