Robert & Elsie Mosebach
Robert Ned Mosebach, 84, of Melbourne, Iowa, passed away from cirrhosis of the liver on July 6, 2018. He died in comfort at the Iowa River Hospice House surrounded by family. The Chicago Cubs lost a very loyal fan that day! Bob “coached” the Cubs for years from his lazy boy - yelling at their careless errors and cheering at their double plays and homeruns! His bucket list was complete when he witnessed the Cubs win the World Series in 2016. Bob was born September 22, 1933, the son of Earl and Viola (Ringenberg) Mosebach. Bob graduated from Sheldahl High School in 1951. He started his career at the Melbourne Savings Bank as teller. (He retired from that same bank over 40 years later.) Bob married Elsie Vetter, on July 11, 1952 and their family began growing in 1953. He enjoyed a pasture on the edge of Melbourne for many years. Bob’s menagerie over the years consisted of horses, sheep, rabbits, and a goat. He always enjoyed the time spent gardening (and gossiping!) with his many friends up at the pasture. Bob served in many different capacities as an active member of the St. John United Church of Christ. In his spare time, Bob also enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing trips with the guys, and jigsaw puzzles. He couldn’t have been any prouder of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Bob was his wife Elsie (who passed away 5 days later), daughters Becky (John) Williams of Overland Park KS, Brenda (Greg) Krause of Albuquerque NM, and Bobbie (Rich) Fisher of Troy OH along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry and daughter, Bonnie.
Elsie Marie Mosebach, 86, of Melbourne, Iowa, passed away from cancer on July 11, 2018. She died in comfort at the Iowa River Hospice House with family by her side. Elsie was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. She was born April 28, 1932, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Shultz) Vetter. Elsie graduated from Sheldahl High School in 1950. She played basketball for Look Magazine in Des Moines before marrying the love of her life, Bob Mosebach, on July 11, 1952. The couple moved to Melbourne where they raised their family. Elsie kept busy freezing/canning fresh produce from their garden over the years and was well known for her homemade pickles. She was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ and enjoyed Ladies Fellowship and quilting with her church friends. Family members treasure their quilts made with love from Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma. Elsie loved sewing, bowling, crossword puzzles, playing cards, cooking, baking, but above all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren! Surviving Elsie are her daughters Becky (John) Williams of Overland Park KS, Brenda (Greg) Krause of Albuquerque NM, and Bobbie (Rich) Fisher of Troy OH along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents - two sisters - husband, Bob - son, Barry and daughter, Bonnie.

Lots of fun memories of watching Hawkeye basketball games with your parents. I remember Bob had quite a bit of advice for those coaches and players too! Elsie had the best laugh!
