Rose Mary Fox

A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Ankeny Funeral Home, located at 1510 W. 1st Street in Ankeny.

Rose Mary was born on November 19, 1925 in Oak Park, Illinois to Nicholas and Mary (Urgo) Laraia. She grew up in Melrose Park, Illinois and graduated from Proviso East High School in 1943. Rose Mary was united in marriage to Robert E. Fox in 1947.

Rose Mary and Bob enjoyed Jitterbug dancing to big-band music at numerous events. She was also an avid reader, loved to travel, and attended many Cadillac & LaSalle Car Club events with her son, Steven. Her family was her highest priority in life.

Survivors include her son, Steven Fox; grandsons, Justin Fox and Joel Fox; sister, Evangeline Fanslow; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1978; parents, Nicholas and Mary Laraia; sister, Antoinette Diamond; and brother, Joseph Laraia.

Memorial contributions on behalf of Rose Mary may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association (Greater Iowa Chapter) and/or the Cadillac and LaSalle Club Museum & Research Center.
