Sharon Lee Campbell

Sharon L. Campbell, 74, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St. Ankeny, Iowa 50023). Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Sharon Lee Hays was born July 27, 1942, in her aunts’ home near Muscatine, IA, to Francis and Barbara (Westfall) Hays. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1961 and then attended the Iowa School of Beauty in Burlington, IA. Sharon was united in marriage to Warren E. Campbell on September 2, 1962, in Mt. Pleasant; they welcomed two children, Deb and David. Sharon was self-employed, working in sales for her 40 plus years while here in Ankeny.

Sharon was a member of the Good News Club, and a leader of the Girl Scouts for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting. In her free time she would also do oil paintings and liked to go antiquing. Sharon played the piano and the guitar as well; most importantly Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her only grandchild, Summer.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Warren; two children: Deb Campbell of Ankeny and David (Rebecca) Campbell of Grimes, IA; her granddaughter, Summer Campbell; one sister, Barbara Stouder of Lockridge, IA and a brother, H. Clark Hays of Mt. Pleasant, IA. She is further survived by many extended family members. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
