Sharon Kay Mohler of Polk City Iowa passed away Monday Nov. 10th, 2014 at Polk City Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Thursday Nov. 13th at 2 P.M. at the Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West first street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023. A Visitation will be held Thursday Nov.13th from 1-2 P.M.
Sharon Mohler was born Feb. 23rd, 1940 in Des Moines Iowa to Harold and Dorothy Owens. Sharon graduated from Valley High School in 1958 and began her lengthy career at Principal Financial where she spent the majority of her working days. Sharon bravely battled the complications of diabetes for over one-third of her life with her family and husband always at her side.
Sharon met the love of her life Ed Mohler and they were wed in 1960. From this union, they were blessed with the birth of their only son Mark Mohler. An avid camper, Sharon enjoyed spending weekends with her husband, family, and friends on Lake Rathbun, singing, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Many lasting memories were created on these outdoor adventures.
Sharon is survived by her husband; Ed Mohler of Polk City IA, son; Mark (Robyn) Mohler, of Urbandale, IA, grandchildren; Travis Mohler, of Cambridge, IA, and Courtney Mohler, of Urbandale, IA, Sisters; Beverly (Bob) Gobble-Morawitz, of Ft. Madison, IA, and Barbara (Don) Smith, of Ankeny, IA, in addition to cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Owens.
