Shawn Michael Christenson

There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, October 9, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am at Lakeside Fellowship, 1121 W Bridge Rd, Polk City, IA 50226. There will be a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service at the church.

Shawn was known for his passion for the outdoors, his service in the church, being in the Word, and his love of camping. His hobbies included smoking meat, fishing, tying flies, hunting, hiking, and golfing. His accomplishments include being part of the Carpenter Union 106, starting from his apprenticeship and working his way up to General Superintendent. He valued his faith, love of family, and dedication to work.

Shawn is survived by his children Morgan Tharp (Brett) and Anna, Grandchildren Brooks, Beckett, and Bristol, his parents Mike and Karen Christenson, his sister Heather Kooker, nieces Taylor Bianchi (Summer) and Payton Kooker, and great niece Jayla, and preceded by his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Shawn.
