Steven A. Dennis

Steven Dennis, 78, of Bondurant, passed away on January 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 26, 2023 at the Prairie Meadows Casino in Altoona at 11 a.m. A graveside will be at a later date the Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines Steve was born March 23, 1944, in Des Moines to Harold and Genevieve Dennis. His quick wit and sarcasm were second to none. Steven was employed at the Hiland Potato Chip Company for close to 30 years, and the family loved when he brought home fresh potato chips. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was very meticulous about his lawn care. He enjoyed NASCAR and watching the Chicago Bears, the Cubs, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Steven loved gambling, whether visiting Las Vegas, staying at the Flamingo, or going to the local casino, Prairie Meadows. Steven is survived by his wife of 41 years, Denise; children, Suzanne (David) DeFino of Des Moines, Stefanie (David) Bennett of Bondurant, Jennifer (Joe) Gioffredi of Indianola, April (Jeff) Kriegel of Grinnell, Laura and Scott Dennis of Des Moines; grandkids, Bryttanie, Ashley, Lily, Lexus, Sophia, Lola, Oliver, Joey, Jules, and Jacob; and great-grandkids, Norah, Carmella, and Joey; siblings, Jerry (Karen) Dennis, of Des Moines, Rick (Sue) Dennis, of Granger, and Peg (Bob) Haag of Pleasant Hill.
