Wallace Wally Edward Glaze

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, November 12, 2014 at Mill Pond Retirement Community, (1201 SE Mill Pond Court, Ankeny, IA 50021). Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ackley, IA at 2:00pm.

Wallace was the son of Roy and Rose (Kreimeyer) Glaze he was born in Ackley, Iowa October 28, 1926 where he spent his entire life until he and his wife moved to Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny in September of 2004. After graduating from Ackley High School in 1945 he entered the U.S. Army and served in WW II in the European theater. He also served in the Korean Conflict. On April 15, 1949 he was united in marriage to Hazel Fenimore. This union was blessed with 2 daughters and 2 sons. Wallace ran a successful electrical contracting business for 45 years. Hunting and fishing were his favorite hobbies especially with children an grandchildren. After retirement he enjoyed time spent during the winter months in the South.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel of 65 years and children, Susan (Ron) Roberts of Ankeny, IA, Steven (Kathleen) Glaze of Freeport, Il, Sandra Stewart of Ankeny, IA, Scott (Debbie) Glaze of North Wilkesboro, NC, 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
