Yvonne Denise Maclin

On July 25, 2023, Yvonne Denise Maclin, 65, fell asleep and passed away peacefully. Yvonne was the mother of three children; Chaun, Artis and Ashley Maclin, and the Grandmother of Izick Maclin and Chayson Maclin; all whom she loved dearly.

Born in Denmark, Tennessee and raised in Brownsville, Tennessee, Yvonne would eventually migrate to Des Moines, Iowa during the ‘80s. Later in the ‘90s she would earn her Nursing Degree from Mercy College. Yvonne was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs in July of 2001 and had 22 years of civilian federal service as a nurse to veterans.

Yvonne wanted the simple things in life; to be happy, healthy, enjoy nature, travel, try new things, and experience inner peace. She wanted the same for her family and friends.

Yvonne is survived by her children as well as her siblings, Thomas (Leala) Mann,Kenneth (Sharon) Maclin, Keith Maclin, Derek Maclin, Mark (Yavonne) Maclin and Michelle Maclin. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carrie Maclin; mother, Flossie Taylor; brother, Floyd Jack Mann; and sister, Chasity Taylor.

While Yvonne’s family and friends grieve this unexpected loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit that will live on. Yvonne’s family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, September 22, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa with the time and location to be determined.
