Alexis Theresa Zudak

September 30, 1961April 13, 2018

Alexis Theresa Zudak, born September 30, 1961 in Bloomington, Indiana, died peacefully in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday, April 13, 2018 after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease. Alexis had a unique ability to see the best in everyone. She loved laughter and eagerly shared her enthusiasm for life with others. She was never happier than when she was championing the underdog or righting a wrong. Alexis was a graduate of Athens High School in Athens, Ohio. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio University in 1983 and worked in marketing in Colorado for many years. In 2005, the progression of the disease forced her to retire early. In 2008, she moved to Michigan with her mother, Judy, and began sharing her sense of fun with the next generation. Alexis is preceded in death by her father, Larry Zudak (1994), and her brother John (2004), both of whom also died from complications of Huntington’s Disease. She is survived by her mother, Judy, her sisters, Victoria (John Eichman) and Catherine (Robert Silbergleit), her brother, Eric, and her niece and nephew, Marina and Jay Silbergleit. Alexis will be sorely missed by all who knew her. But, the best tribute anyone could pay her is to go out and have a good time. She’d only be sorry to have missed the party.

When I think of Alexis I think of her dyeing her hair. Sounds silly but she loved to kick it up a notch!
May you laugh & dance forever more.
