

Andrew Philip “Andy” Kokinakes, 62, of Petersburg, Michigan (formerly of Ann Arbor) passed away March 29, 2017. Andy entered this life on February 22, 1955 in Ann Arbor to John A. and Nancy L. (nee: Tervo) Kokinakes, their firstborn. As a youth Andy enjoyed baseball and later “anything that went fast” including boats, cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles.. He was an avid Formula I race fan enjoying trips to Watkins Glen, New York to watch. When he was 16 he met the slightly younger Merri Dinger and they spent the next 46 years together. Together, Merri and Andy owned and operated four “Victory Lane Quick Oil Change” franchises, retiring in 2009.
In addition to Merri and his parents, John & Nancy, Andy is survived by his sisters, Susan (Randy) Limmer and Julie K. Kokinakes; brothers, Paul J. (Carol) Kokinakes and Philip J. (JoLynn) Kokinakes; aunt, Stella (Angelo) Theros; nieces and nephews, Benjamin Limmer, Andrew, Maxwell, Andrea and Jason Kokinakes, Lucas Anderson, Ryan (Rinkle) Hall, Rivaan Hall, Daniel (Sofie) Hall, Luca Hall, Penny Hall, and Teodora (Patrick) Quealy; sister-in-law, Candace (David) Hall and brother-in-law, Mark L. (Theresa) Dinger.
To accommodate their many, many friends and family, Merri and the other immediate family members are planning a celebration of Andy’s life, the details of which will follow when those arrangements are complete.
