

Rosentreter, Arbe Herman of Dexter, MI died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 84 years of age. He was born on August 4, 1925 in Webster Township the son of Herman C. and Gertrude E. Rosentreter. Arbe served in the United States Army during WW II, he married Virginia Mae Moore on June 1, 1946; she preceded him in death on February 12, 1975. Arbe helped his family farm land on Gregory Rd. for many years; he was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ for many years serving as president for a period of time and taught Sunday School there. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City, MI. Arbe was a long time member of the American Legion both in Dexter and Mikado, MI, a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Dexter and Barton City, a past member of the Moose Lodge in Ann Arbor and a member of the Sheriffs Dept. Mounted Division for 15 years. He had worked at Cook Springs and as a Mason and General Contractor for 42 years in the Ann Arbor and Dexter areas. His parents, two infant sons, a sister, Anna Mae Rosentreter Philbin Tennant, a nephew, Steven Philbin and a niece, Annette Tennant also preceded him in death. He leaves behind his children, Diane (David) Melow, Gary (Nancy) Rosentreter and Linda Graham; grandchildren, Charles Graham, David Melow II and Nathaniel Melow; great grandchildren Ty and Chelsea Graham. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Andrew’s United Church of Christ in Dexter. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to St. Andrew’s Church of Christ, St. Josephs Mercy Hospital Pulmonary Services or The University of Michigan Cardiovascular Unit.
