Aris graduated from Huron High School in Ann Arbor, where he excelled in academics as well as athletics. He became a highly skilled basketball player, which would lead him to devote much of his time to coaching the Northside STEAM youth basketball team. He was a selfless mentor, youth counselor and all around loving person.
After graduating from Huron High School, he would continue his studies at Washtenaw Community College. Later he would secure a job at Detroit Metro Airport, working for Delta Airlines. This would allow him to create an everlasting memory, by making a surprise visit to see his Baby Sister Aja in California.
Aris, also known as “7 Flamez” has made a lasting impression on everyone he touched. His vibrant personality, and constant drive toward success has inspired, and drawn so many people to him; Young, old and everyone in between. A dynamic Hip Hop artist, he was making his mark on the music scene. Ever ready to drop a verse or spit some knowledge. He would often perform with his Baby Girl Alannah, either near or on stage with him. Some of the greatest memories are of him kicking around a ball outside with Alannah, and challenging his nephew Samson to a foot race. Two tall guys, all legs.
Aris accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was baptized at the Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor in July of 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother Mavis Taylor, eight years almost to the day.
Aris leaves to keep his memory alive his daughter Alannah Mae Taylor, his father Darryn L. Taylor (Johanna), sister Carmen, brother LaVell, sister Aja, four nephews Sampson, Demari, Lazar, and Jahaun. He also leaves behind a legion of fans and lifelong friends in the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Jackson and Metropolitan Detroit area. Countless Taylor, Powers, and Dabney family members, including a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and co-workers who adored him. Continue to lift up the Family in prayer, and live your life of purpose. Peaceful journey. Now rest Sweet Prince.
