Audrey Gray

December 26, 1944July 26, 2020

Audrey passed away peacefully at home in Ann Arbor with family by her side. She was a devoted mother, Gigi, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. Audrey was a cup half full personality, always up for a celebration, made friends wherever she went, was a strong woman and role model and had a smile that was infectious. She was truly present in every moment of life and has been described as courageous, loyal, warm, strong, sincere, humorous, passionate, reliable, and loving. Audrey was most proud of her daughters, Laura and Robyn, and her granddaughters, Lola and Paisley. Her devotion to them was awe inspiring. She was proud to call herself a “Townie” after being born and having lived in Ann Arbor for most of her life. She was a 1963 graduate of Ann Arbor High School, a graduate of the respiratory therapy program at Washtenaw Community College and was retired from the Ann Arbor office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone as a Director of Information Systems. Audrey was fond of traveling with her daughter and granddaughters, social gatherings with friends and family, cheering for Michigan football (and parking cars on her lawn for almost 50 years!), exercising her right to vote and supporting her granddaughters at their various activities. Of late, she was especially thankful for close friends and family who helped to take care of her, her medical team at Michigan Medicine (including music therapy), and her home care team from Arbor Hospice. She is survived by her daughter Laura Gray, son-in-law Aaron Bennett, granddaughters Lola Bennett and Paisley Austin, siblings David Warren, Margaret Cole, Jim (Mary) Warren, Yvonne Gillies and Janet Harwood and her dedicated canine Brooks. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Robyn Bennett, her parents Eric and Agnes Warren, and her friend Byrl Racine. Due to COVID-19, Audrey’s wish was to have a celebration of her life at a later date when it is safe to do so. Memorial contributions in Audrey’s name can be made to METAvivor and/or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
