Barbara G Oddy

Barbara Groves Oddy, 88 of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on September 19th, in Fort Collins Colorado with her three children and family by her side. Barbara was born on June 9, 1924 to Florence Nickles Groves and Benjamin Edwin Groves. She grew up in Ann Arbor and graduated from University High School. She attended college at Monticello Junior College in Alton, Illinois and graduated in 1944. She also attended Hillsdale College and the University of Michigan. She was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. In 1948, she married Robert K. Oddy of Grosse Pointe Park, and both lived in Ann Arbor where they raised their three children. Barbara was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. She was also a member of the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop and Barton Hills Country Club for many years. She was a Charter Member of the Ann Arbor Women’s City Club. Barbara is survived by her three children, Melinda Brummet (John) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Robert G. Oddy (Cynthia) of Huntington Beach, California, and Mary Beth Oddy of Fort Collins, Colorado. Four grand children, William, Sarah, and Benjamin Bowles, and Devon Oddy also survive her. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel Family burial to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
